Biographical Data

William F. Hoffmeyer, Esquire is a founding partner in the Law Firm of Hoffmeyer & Semmelman, LLC concentrating his practice on real estate and zoning law, corporate, estate planning, decedent’s estates, and elder law. He also serves as an expert witness in real estate as well as professional malpractice in the legal, real estate and title insurance fields and matters relevant to defects in real estate titles. He was the Solicitor for the York County Tax Claim and Tax Assessment Office from 1979 to 1988.

Mr. Hoffmeyer’s abilities as an attorney are recognized by his colleagues. He is an AV© Peer Review Rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell, has been recognized as a Super Lawyer for 14 consecutive years (2004-2017) and by Best Lawyers in America for 10 consecutive years (2008-2017.)

A frequent lecturer, author and adjunct professor, Mr. Hoffmeyer  has spoken for numerous organizations throughout Pennsylvania on topics such as real estate, legal ethics, professional ethics and title insurance. He also wrote five books on real estate related matters.

  • Pennsylvania Bar Institute of the Pennsylvania Bar Association (In addition to many other seminars, Mr. Hoffmeyer has served as the moderator and lecturer for PBI’s Annual General Practitioner’s Update from WITF Studios to over 30 different locations in Pennsylvania since the inception of that program. The program recently has begun broadcasting from the Pennsylvania Bar Institute’s own studios.)
